Right now I'm sitting at Oslo airport. And there is one thing I don't get about airports. Just think about this: You've got a massive interntational connection point, probably costs mass af millions to build. And you still have forgot the electric outputs.. You have a ton of travelers, businessmen, backpackers etc. and you still haven't figured that some of them might need to charge their electical equipment. Of course this flight is not really a problem. I slept during the entire flight down here and my battery is still full so I won't run out of power any time soon, but on our way back from the states it was pretty annoying. We had to travel for more than 12 hours and stopping on several airports and you really had to go on a scavenger hunt every time you wanted to recharge. Now I'm at the far end of the airport sitting along with those self-service check-in machines, they need power so here they have set up some semi-temporary solution. They've even got internet connection, however it is probably a local thing and all the holes are used anyways, so I'm just tethering the 3G connection from my phone. It was actually pretty chill sitting here, pretty silent, not a lot of people and there is power :D Anyways as said I'm sitting on the airport, supposed to meat the AFS officials in 45 minutes. So this is it, in a few hours I'll be on my flight to Belgium. I think the worst part would be that I really don't understand the language. I've had french for four years now but when my exchange-brother talks to me on Facebook I haven't got a clue of what he's saying most of the time. But I guess as there seems like no one there speaks English I'll learn the language pretty fast. Right after I write this post I will start organizing a photo album for you which I'll post here mith geotags and on Facebook. For starters you can check out a so called photo synth I made to try out microsofts photosynth engine: http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=43d925bb-3b56-4c24-a4d9-be09a395a632&m=false&i=0:1:1&c=0.0609458:-0.149253:0.00225889&z=526.850458890741&d=0.996247499162209:-2.45690684681027:-2.56889316267237&p=0:0
It's basically a panorama of a glacier I climbed this summer. If you want to know more about Photosynth you should check out this TED talk (Technology Education and Design, sounds pretty lame but it's awesome): http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/blaise_aguera_y_arcas_demos_photosynth.html But I should get any time at all sorting photos I'll have to stop writing now, so bye for now :D
